Citrus Peelminer Marmara gulosa - Kern IPM Demonstration 2002
Back to Kern 2002
We sample for citrus peelminer in by checking for mining activity on inside fruit
on the lower half of 20 trees in each block. Peelminer densities are
very low in these orchards. Only 5-20% of the trees have any peelminer,
and infested trees only have 1 mined fruit per tree. As long as the
number of fruit per tree remains low, this should not be an economic problem.
These varieties of navels are not particularly susceptible to peelminer and so
we would not expect to see more than a few mines appear during the season.
